Oblivious Pop is a music blog that focuses on discovering up coming indie pop artists. Our goal as a blog is to help bring great pop music out from the depths and deliver it to the sometimes oblivious listeners. We write about artist who we think have the absolute potential to have a major break out in the pop-music scene.

Oblivious Pop was founded by Michael Schreder, a current Music Business Major at NYU, in June of 2013. The blog at first went through a phase where posts were minimal and the name of the blog was much different. After being inspired by indie pop scene in New York City, Michael reassessed his music blog, did a couple changes, and thus Oblivious Pop was born.
Today, Oblivious Pop is acting as strictly a music blog. We are proud to have gained a quick following and to have been building connections with the artist we write about. October 29th, 2013 marked the first showcase for Oblivious Pop where Germans and Marlene ∞ performed. The future of Oblivious Pop looks bright. We are looking to work with artist in a way that will increase their exposure. In the next year, we hope to continue our showcases and hope that in the future we can expand Oblivious Pop to the label side of the music industry.

*We are currently accepting submissions from musicians. Please send all submissions to the email above with the subject line "(Band Name) Submission". Also, please provide a link with your Soundcloud page in the e-mail. We try our best to listen to everyone's music, but sadly we have limited time to write about everything we receive. We understand how hard musicians work and how difficult it can be to build a fan base, so we'll try our best to respond to you.
